Shopping Summary: Wrapping up June

I made some somewhat random shopping trips during these past two weeks.  And I probably will make one more by the time Friday hits.  Between being out of town and running errands in between to keep up with life – it’s been a bit crazy to say the least. All that’s running through my head is wedding, classroom, blog, wedding, classroom, blog. So many things to plan for!

So in all of that, I made it to Publix last week for a quick trip.  And I made an even quicker trip to Kroger yesterday to grab 2 newspapers and some random ingredients for my meals this week.  Like I always say – my stockpile is saving our budget, my time, and my tummy!!

Here’s what I bought:

So that wraps up June.  I did spend an extra $70 to complete the Diva Detox (something for me, regardless of budget).  Taking out that week of shopping, I am exactly on par with my $30/week budget.  Boy, I thought it was going to be a lot worse than that with my erratic shopping!  Turned out better than expected!

Shopping Summary: June Week #2

My goal this week was a bit different than normal – to get all the ingredients on my list to fulfill a specific diet.  You see, I usually craft my meal plan and therefore shopping list based on what’s on sale and what I have coupons for.

But this week, I’m participating in the Diva Detox and had to obtain hoards of produce!  It’s all I’ve been eating since Wednesday and will continue to eat until next Wednesday.  But I’ve got to say… I’m loving it! I feel great about what I’m putting into my body and know that it was worth every penny.

That said, my savings percentage was no where near what it normally is.  And I’m okay with that.

I’m going to list out what I bought this just cuz – savings or none :)  The pictures are split up by “just normal shopping” and “detox diet ingredients.”

Shopping Summary: A Few Weeks!

Things around here have been crazy!  I graduated with my Masters in Education last week.  Then my best friend/bridesmaid came into town and we had a fabulous weekend in Nashville.  In all of that, I literally FORGOT to go grocery shopping.  Ha!  I don’t know how you can do that, but I did.  So this is my shopping summary from several weeks ago.  We’ve been living off this for at least 2 weeks!

I’m just over half of our monthly budget – and it’s the end of the month!  I’ll definitely remember to go shopping this week.  But until then…

Shopping Summary: May Week #1

I haven’t posted a shopping summary in a while – but after just crunching the numbers, I fell $3.00 under budget for the month of April.  Wa-hooo!  My savings percentages haven’t been as high, though we’ve had everything we’ve needed and have been adding to the stockpile little by little.  Under budget, new recipes, and healthy food – whether it’s high or low savings, I’ll take it.

I made it to Publix and Harris Teeter this week.  The trips went $10 over our $30/week budget, but I wanted to take advantage of the HT Triples.  I have three weeks to make it up, definitely doable.

Shopping Summary: April 11 – 17, 2010

Publix and Aldi for me this week… and still under budget.  I like it.

However, I have noticed that my savings have been pretty lame over the last couple of months.  I think it is in direct correlation with the increase in school work and the addition of wedding planning.  I graduate with my master’s in 2 weeks (so excited!) and this summer is free for planning, blogging, and catching up with friends.  Hopefully that means more time for coupon clipping and planning as well.  My stockpile has been a life saver!
