Shopping Summary: 12/13 – 12/19

Had a good week money-wise, but a frustrating experience at Publix. Oh well, still got groceries for $15. I won’t complain! Also adding the Kroger run I did last week – great meat deals… but no picture.

PUBLIX
For those of you wanting to know what happened with the lost $8… I had a terrible time checking out this week. The cashier made me “un-bag” my groceries to check my coupons. Then the manager came over and made me do the same thing. They treated me like I was trying to pull one on them – when in fact, it turned out I was right. By the time my 30-minutes to check out was over, I was not even going to try to get my money back from last week. This is the first really frustrating experience I’ve had a Publix. They usually have the best employees! You win some, you lose some. And I guess I lost $8. Not the end of the world.  And being nice did pay off in the end!

I followed the scenario that I posted earlier this week but again had to change the order of things. Found a coupon for -$2 off CVS products and then newspapers were back to $1 (they confuse me!) I got stuck at the register with the lowest ECB amount of $3.98 and only $2 in newspapers. I just paid $2 in cash, made it easier.

I had a similar frustraing experience at a certain Publix this week too. The cashier did the same thing to me: she layed out all my items and then looked through my coupons matching them up. She denied two of my coupons that I know “my Publix” would accept (I was shopping on the other side of town, which I won’t do again!). She also adjusted the pricing on my coupons so I wouldn’t receive any overage. For example, Muir Glen Sauce was 89 cents and I had $1 off coupon. I purchased 5 and she adjusted the coupon discount to 89 cents each. Once again, “my Publix” would have given me overage. Then after a long horrible process with her, she had the audacity to ask me “do you sell these items or something?” What in the world? I was like NO I am just smart enough to buy and stock up when they are on sale! I couldn’t believe she thought I was selling the stuff just because I was getting a good deal. I won’t go back there again. She said Publix is getting wise to how couponers are scamming them and it’s a new policy there to not award overage and to check all coupons against items.
