Tuesday Tips: I love it when a plan comes together!

Tuesday Tips will offer you a variety of strategies and tricks for saving money. For a full walk-through of the couponing process and many more tips and tricks, check out the couponing workshops!

Last week’s tips started you off with the first two tenets of the planning process. Here are the next two, and you’re well on your way to big savings!

  1. Plan your shopping list. Write out a specific shopping list for the items you’ll need to buy to complete your meal plan. Note the approximate cost of each item and post the total at the top of the list. It’s your shopping goal. You’ll get much more precise with this figure as you get better at the couponing game. Spend your half hour at home planning and save the time in the store.

  2. Plan your time. Plan a time every week when you will do all your shopping. I love Sunday nights because no one is in the store. It takes me less than an hour – in and out. Try not to stray from your shopping list. A good shopping list will have listed everything you need already – so spare yourself!

Again, these planning steps will save you money before you even clip a coupon! From here, you’ll gradually work coupons into your system. Stay tuned for the next segment on Coupon/Sale Matchups…

Yesterday Jake took all his baseball cards out of all the plastic pocket things of one of his card binders and I started my coupon book! Woohoo!
